Date caramel

This date caramel requires only 2 main ingredients and is a great alternative to a sugary caramel apple dip! Not to mention, dates are full of potassium :)

Ingredients:

20 medjool dates (remove each pit)

Hot water

A pinch of salt

Directions:

Step #1:

After removing the pit from your dates, place them in a glass bowl and soak them in hot water for 5-10 minutes (you should be able to see the skin slightly peeling off)

Step #2:

Carefully peel off the skin of each date and place the peeled dates into a food processor or a blender. (food processor tends to work better.)

Step #3:

To the dates start off by adding a pinch of salt and few tablespoons of water to help the dates blend well. Blend and adjust the amount of water depending on how thick you want your caramel to be.

Step #4:

Use it as a dip for apples or the snack of your choice!
